As you make your way toward home, down the stretch of Luna Vista Drive leading from Daponte's Market all the way out to the edge of town and eventually the 101 into Ventura or L.A., the van continues to stalk you, rolling at a
ridiculously slow pace behind you.
As you approach the sharp curve to the left where Luna Vista Drive turns at the cliff, 75 feet above the ocean, it occurs to you that the driver of the van may be attempting to knock you off the cliff with the van. It would be
certain suicide for him, but he'd be remembered by his hate-monger buddies for generations as the guy who took down Nadia Willis.
You could always cross the street just before the curve. On that side of the road, you'd have more places to dodge the van should the driver try to run you down...but then you'll have to cross the street a second time before the house, as your home's on this side of the street.
